Religious Leaders?
At the end of an article on the Guardian website today titled ‘stand up, stand up, against Jesus’ it says this; ”Religious leaders are not our moral leaders, much as they clamour to be, and however much the politicians flatter them. These spiritual emperors have no clothes, and we shouldn’t flinch from saying so.”

Is it too late for the Church to save its reputation in the eyes of the world?
Is this a part of the “end times” that we have to adapt to ‘until He comes?’
Should Religious Leaders be our moral leaders?
What do we think?

Id go with religious leaders being ‘moral leaders’ in as much as they show us what the Bible says about morality.
Jesus, through His Spirit & Word has the final say on what is right & wrong so religious leaders ought only to serve in pointing to that.
(Not sure if i’ve made sense there)
However, church is no longer united with the state in leading the country, and to be honest i think there are many pros about this.
I think if religion leads a nation it breeds just that: ‘Religion’.
Legalism and tradition can become the main issue, rather than Jesus.
We in the Church are not called to get non-christians to live a certain way, holding to high morals. Or to have them live the ten commandments. People can live moral lives, (many outside of the church do), and yet still find themselves lost in eternity.
We are called to tell people about Jesus who, by His Spirit & Word will transform their lives.
