Jesus, through His Spirit & Word has the final say on what is right & wrong so religious leaders ought only to serve in pointing to that.

However, church is no longer united with the state in leading the country, and to be honest i think there are many pros about this.
I think if religion leads a nation it breeds just that: ‘Religion’.
Legalism and tradition can become the main issue, rather than Jesus.

We in the Church are not called to get non-christians to live a certain way, holding to high morals. Or to have them live the ten commandments. People can live moral lives, (many outside of the church do), and yet still find themselves lost in eternity.

We are called to tell people about Jesus who, by His Spirit & Word will transform their lives.
