Changed the type

Both types by https://klim.co.nz/

Footnote: I’ve talked before about how our website is always evolving, going forwards but also sometimes going backwards.

This change is part of that process. Someone said to me this week that it was a ‘big call’ to change the type. I get what they meant but, it reminded me that there is sometimes a mythical haze surrounding web design. The bureaucracy of making decisions about type, colours and content in the local small scale business world where most of my work comes from is frustrating. The sector is often ruled by old men who know f@#k all about the web and about design.

It’s not a big call to change the type or entire colour of your website. It’s not a big call to stop over explaining yourself and saying stuff like ‘click here’ or mutated forms of this glaringly obvious command.

I’ll tell you what is a big call… It’s a big call to say I don’t understand this well enough or I’m a dinosaur and I think maybe my ideas suck so, let’s allow someone with a better understanding to make the “big calls.”

Changed the type.
